HOW TO POSE (TO APPEAR TALLER)4/25/15
I have been getting this aaa-whole lot -even from friends- that I retouch my photos to look taller, which is something I don't even know how to do on photoshop. That got me thinking that if I appear taller in my photos, I must be doing something right. From what you have read in my photo above, I am 1,56cm tall which google translates to 5 feet and 1,41 inches. My petite size never really bothered me much, only when I am treated as a 12 year old when I cannot reach things. It definately did not keep me from posing in front of a camera, because I know that pictures are all about the angles. I just had to find the perfect angle for me.
#1 The thigh gap
This is my to-go pose and it was actually not under much research that I found this pose. As I was scrolling through my instagram pictures, I noticed 3 pictures in a row with me possing this way, which was pretty funny I have to say.
The genious part of this pose, is that you create a gap between your legs so they look slimmer. If you take a look at the 1st photos, you will see me standing straight. If I was a model or thiner, I would have a gap between my legs. Now that this is not the case, I have to create one!
#2 Forced perspective
This step has many categories but I am only going to tell you about one. Have you seen pictures of people "holding" the Pisa building with their hand? No? Google 'Pisa tourist' and you will understand. Those people create a false perspective by standing closer to the camera, so they apper even taller than the building on the background. Well, this is the most simple example of what I am trying to explain here. My legs are short, so as to make them look taller what do I have to do? I have to make sure they are closer to the camera than the rest of my body. This is a 10 to 15 centimeter distance from the wall, you don't want to overdo this!
It doesnt always have to be a wall behind!
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
I have sceduled every Saturday to do a post like this one or something that is different from an outfit of the day. What do you guys think?
