There is logic behind everything and so there is logic behind color combinations and the harmony behind each color combination. I am not here to show you the perfect combination as I am learning myself in the way too. There are many books or videos you can learn from but my lazy way was always to try them all and see how it looks. Silly, I know. The basic theory is that in the color wheel the colors opposite each other are the complimentary colors. There are 3 primary colors which cannot be created by mixing and then there are endless hues of each one of those. White is light and black is the absence of light. Simple as that. So how can you create a color combination that is attractive?

Here are two simple ways to never get it wrong:

Pastels.

Yes pastels is always the 'classic' or 'easy' answer when you feel like wearing colors but are too lazy to think much about it. Pastels colors are the 'washed out' form of every color and because they lack vibrancy they tend to mix well with each other thus creating a great harmony.

Complementary colors.

As I said above in the color wheel there are the three primary colors  (red, yellow and blue) and each one creates a secondary color  (purple, green and orange) when mixed with each other. When you mix secondary and primary colors you get the tertiary colors and then the color wheel is complete. The wheel can be as big as the last mix is. The colors are endless. Imagine that wheel or simply google it! Find the colors opposite each other. These are the complementary colors. Color mix your clothes away!
